TMC leaders Madan Mitra & Saugata Roy paint idol depicting CM Mamata as Goddess Durga

As TMC gears up for Bhabanipur poll result, TMC MPs Man Mitra and Saugata Roy were spotted giving finishing paint touches to a Mamata Banerjee idol. Likening Banerjee to Goddess Durga, Man Mitra claimed that TMC Supremo was depicted as Goddess in 'eye-giving' episode. In preparation to Durga Pujo celebrations, pandal at  Baguihati Nazrul Park Development Association and Crowdnxt Mediia Art collaborated to depict 3-time CM as Goddess Durga for her social welfare schemes.

In September, three pandal committees in West Bengal collaborated to make idols of state CM Mamata Banerjee as Goddess Durga for upcoming Pujo celebrations. committees - Nazrul Park Unnayan Samiti and Crowdnxt Mediia Art collaborated to create a Mamata idol sporting ten hands - each representing her govt's schemes like Lakhi Bhandar, Shikshashree, Swasthya Sathi etc. West Bengal CM has contested for re-elections from hometurf Bhabanipur after losing to Suvendu hikari in Nandigram.

"Every person in Bengal considers her as Goddess Durga. benefits she provided to people haven't been seen in world," said Partha Sarkar, Vice Pres, Nazrul Park Unnayan Samiti to ANI. He ded, " 10 hands of Goddess Durga will be shown reaching out to people with schemes like Lakhi Bhandar, Shikshashree, Swasthya Sathi etc.

Meanwhile, idol maker Mintu Pal described design of idol saying, " fibreglass idol will be prepared, keeping facial impression of CM in mind. idol will sport a white saree and in background re will be logo of Biswa Bangla. Talking about pricing, Crowdnxt Mediia Art Director Dipanwita Bagchi said, "It costs Rs 2.10 lakhs. Her 10 hands will represent her govt schemes. It was a big challenge for me to complete this concept".

Meanwhile, CM's home constituency Bhowanipore is planning to have a 'Khela Hobe' me to Durga Puja festivities this year. slogan - coined by TMC during its poll campaign in May will be depicted in pandals via sports-med images and objects. In a bid to keep Durga Puja safe, community Durga Puja committees in Kolkata have decided to ensure that all those who are involved in rituals and or related works are vaccinated in next three months. "From our members and locals frequenting pandals to artisans, priests, dhakis and electricians -- everyone will have to get COVID vaccines in next three months," said Forum for Durgotsab official Partha Ghosh to PTI. Forum for Durgotsab, an umbrella organisation of 550 community Durga Pujas in Kolkata and neighbouring areas, also published guidelines to ensure that festivities are held following COVID-safety protocols - allowing only vaccinated devotees to be allowed to visit.
