TMC refuses to depute IPS officers, dares Centre to impose President's Rule in West Bengal
The TMC government has claimed that the Centre's order is 'unconstitutional and unacceptable' and has dared the Union Government to impose President's Rule

Aggravating row between Centre and Mamata Banerjee-led ministration in West Bengal, TMC has strongly asserted that it will t release three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers on Central deputation. TMC government has claimed that Centre's order is 'unconstitutional and unacceptable' and has dared Union Government to impose President's Rule in West Bengal. three IPS officers sought for Central deputation were in-charge of security of BJP chief JP Nda's visit to state which witnessed a lapse on December 10.
dressing a press conference on Thursday, Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee said, "We will t send m on deputation. At most, Centre can impose President's Rule. We welcome that. If Centre has power to do that, let it go ahe. This is unconstitutional and unacceptable. We will t allow interference by Centre." senior TMC leer alleged that Centre is attempting to misuse certain provisions of IPS Cre Rule of 1954 and trying to destroy federal structure of country.

'Colourable exercise of power'
After MHA's summons last week, Centre h sent ar letter on Thursday morning to Bengal ministration to relieve three IPS officers at earliest. However, CM Mamata Banerjee responded by saying that she will t allow "brazen attempt" by Centre to "control State machinery by proxy!" three officers are Inspector General (South Bengal) Rajeev Mishra, DIG (Presidency Range) Praveen Kumar Tripathi, and Diamond Harbour SP Bholanath Pandey.

"GoI’s order of central deputation for 3 serving IPS officers of West Bengal despite State’s objection is a colourable exercise of power and blatant misuse of emergency provision of IPS Cre Rule 1954," Mamata Banerjee said in a tweet. In ar tweet, she said that this act is thing but a "deliberate attempt" to encroach upon State’s jurisdiction and demoralize serving officers in West Bengal.

Previously, West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyophyay h written to Union Home Secretary asserting that re is need to summon three IPS officers. Highlighting security provision for Nda's visit, Bengal Chief Secretary h urged Bhalla to do-away with summon as state government is dressing issue with 'utmost seriousness'.

BJP National President JP Nda's convoy was stoned as he was on his visit to West Bengal. incident on Thursday on took place when Nda was on his way to Diamond Harbour to dress a meeting with party workers. Diamond Harbour is parliamentary constituency of Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Reportedly, Mukul Roy and Kailash Vijayvargiya also sustained injuries in attack.
