Under PM Modi, India effectively tackled COVID-19: Amit Shah

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has tackled the COVID-19 pandemic effectively which the world considers as a "model", Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leership, India has tackled COVID-19 pandemic effectively which world considers as a "model", Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday.

Everyone wondered how country with a huge population and weak health infrastructure would tackle pandemic, but "effective steps were taken at right time", Shah said. He was speaking at inauguration of a medical college at Kankavli in Maharashtra's Sindhudurgdistrict.

Targeting ruling Maha Vikas Aghi (MVA-comprising Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress) in Maharashtra, Shah claimed it is a"three-wheel autorickshaw government which has failed on all fronts".

Sena parted ways with long-term ally BJP after Maharashtra Assembly polls in 2019 over issue of sharing chief ministerial post in state.

Sena president Uddhav Thackeray h n claimed that BJP went back on promise of sharing CM's post with his party for two-and-a-half years.

Reacting to it, Shah, who was at that time president of BJP, said, "I never give any assurances in closed rooms. Whatever I do, I do it openly."
