Tamil Nu BJP unit is set to resume controversial 'Vetrivel Yatra' despite facing severe backlash from its ally in State. tably, ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIMK) government has denied permission for procession on multiple occasions in past. TN BJP President L Murugan is determined to re-launch 'Vetrivel Yatra' and will do so from party's hequarters in Chennai on Tuesday, as per reports.
Speaking to media gared outside Thiruchendur Murugan temple in Tamil Nu, State BJP He explained purpose of Vel Yatra campaign. ' intent is to pray for people of country amidst challenging times, where every household is affected by Corona,' he said. In his dress to media, he also ted that BJP sole aim was to ensure safety and happiness of its constituents in Tamil Nu and it was willing to carry out more yatras in name and benefit of it people. TN BJP, on vember 2, h sought permission from Chennai Police to undertake 'Vel Yatra' but was refused to be given a go-ahe citing preventive measures taken to combat spre of coronavirus pandemic. Murugan has been detained by police on numerous occasions across state over past few months for attempting to go on 'Vel Yatra'.

month-long 'Vel Yatra', scheduled from vember 6 to December 6, faced staunch opposition from or parties in Tamil Nu as it is believed that y have pressurized state government to deny permission for procession, as per reports. yatra is scheduled to end on December 6 - anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid. L Murgan's determination to embark upon 'Vel Yatra' comes after Tamil Nu government led by CM Eddapi Palaniswami met BJP leer on three occasions and rejected idea pitched.

AIMK warns TN BJP over 'Vel Yatra'
All is t well between BJP and AIMK in Tamil Nu as latter, on Monday, warned its ally to t 'disrupt peace and harmony in state by undertaking yatra. yatra refers to TN BJP unit's controversial Vel Yatra or Vetrivel Yatra. Just days ahe of Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to state on 21 vember to discuss poll strategies with party functionaries for upcoming 2021 Assembly elections, AIMK via its mouthpiece Namhu Amma warned BJP of undertaking Vel Yatras and asked m to stop doing so.

Mras HC pulls up BJP for 'Vel Yatra'
Raising concerns over Tamil Nu BJP's Vetri Vel Yatra, Mras High Court on Tuesday asked how party mand to go ahe with procession without obtaining permission from state government. Mras High Court pulled up state BJP unit on Tuesday for proceeding with yatra after Director-General of Police informed Court that party was doing so despite being denied permission. According to reports, state's vocate General (AG) informed two-judge bench comprising of M Sathyanarayanan and R Hemalatha that TN BJP was violating rules alongside obstructing police from discharging ir duties and putting ors' lives at risk.
