WB Guv Dhankar demands CM Mamata Banerjee to brief him about law & order situation

Expressing shock at his exclusion from law and order situation in West Bengal, Goverr Jagdeep Dhankar, on Monday, stated that he h t been briefed by state authorities inspite of requesting same. Naming WB CM Mamata Banerjee, he questioned as to why Chief Secretary or Director General of Police h briefed him on situation. He ded that such a misgiving was t acceptable given ermity of situation and informed that he has asked Banerjee to update him at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.

Dhankar expresses his concern over agitations in Bengal
Earlier in day, Dhankar said that Citizenship (Amendment) Act is law of land. He expressed his anguish over Bengal government’s rejection of CAA and said that Mamata Banerjee should abide by Constitution. He also expressed his concern about deteriorating state of law and order due to rampant violence stating that people must maintain peace and was amazed that government has t shown kind of seriousness.

Goverr-Mamata tussle
tussle between Goverr and Mamata Banerjee-led government has been ongoing since absence of pleasantries between him and Banerjee in Assembly. Banerjee has hit out at him saying, "a BJP leer has come to Bengal who does t even have courtesy to return a salutation". Dhankar has alleged that Banerjee was "humiliating" him "on every occasion" and was t briefing him regularly. He has also slammed Speaker Biman Banerjee for "violating protocol" by inviting him to speak at Constitution Day special session in Assembly on vember 26 after or dignitaries.

Previously on December 5, Goverr h arrived at state Assembly and found main gates locked. He stated that he h informed Speaker of his arrival on Wednesday, but found that one was present in Assembly on Thursday - which incidentally is a working day. Condemning this kind of treatment of a Goverr, he said it was an unfortunate state of democracy in Bengal.
