Pramod Sawant: 'Fadnavis will retain his position as Chief Minister'
Ahead of polls, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant extended support to Devendra Fadnavis and said that he will be re-elected as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

As poll-bound Maharashtra prepares for elections, support has been pouring in from fellow BJP leaders for Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The latest instance comes from Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Sawant on Wednesday said that Devendra Fadnavis will retain the position as the state Chief Minister. Sawant said that the BJP will win with a thumping majority and Devendra Fadnavis will become Chief Minister once again.

Pramod Sawant extends support to Devendra Fadnavis
Talking to the media, Sawant said:
"There is no doubt that Devendra Fadanavis would once again become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra."

The Goa CM had addressed a gathering in Mumbai and also toured several districts in Maharashtra like Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli during his campaign last week.

BJP manifesto for elections

- Memorial for Basaveshwar in Mangalveda along with memorials for several other leaders like Jijabai, Ahilyabai Holkar, and others.
- Development of several holy places and the celebration of many Maharashtra leaders' birth anniversaries.
Maharashtra Assembly polls
Maharashtra, which has 288 Assembly seats will go to polls on 21 October 2019. Maharashtra assembly elections will be held in a single-phase and the counting procedure would be conducted on October 24. Shiv Sena will contest for polls from 124 constituencies, the BJP will contest from 150 and its allies will contest from 14 constituencies. Meanwhile, Congress in alliance with Sharad Pawar's NCP, have decided to contest 125 seats each in the 288-member assembly, leaving the remaining 38 seats for its allies. Currently, the BJP holds 122 seats while the Shiv Sena holds 63 seats and the Opposition held by UPA has 42 seats.
