Coronavirus: Preparations for evacuating Indians stranded in Hubei has begun, says MEA
India has begun preparations for the evacuation of Indians stranded in China's Hubei in the wake of the deadly Coronavirus outbreak, says MEA spokesperson.

With numerous Indians stranded in China in wake of dely Coronavirus outbreak, Centre has decided to take steps for ir evacuation. Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar reassured citizens of India that process of evacuation of Indian nationals from Hubei Province in China has begun and that Embassy of India in China is in close communication with Chinese government and its officials to work out logistics and provide speedy relief to Indian nationals.

He also ded that Embassy of India along with chinese government is working on logistics and promised to continue sharing furr updates.

Precautionary measures taken
As per statement of Health Ministry, while travel visories have been sent to joining countries including China to spre information about disease globally, seven airports in India have been on lookout for passengers with Coronavirus. On directions of Health Ministry, rmal health screening of passengers arriving from China and Hong Kong is also being conducted in seven airports namely Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderab, Mumbai, Cochin and Delhi. In latest development, Air India has reportedly kept a 423-seater jumbo plane rey in Mumbai for evacuating Indians from Wuhan city in China, which is epicentre of Coronavirus. As per reports, while 250 Indians have alrey been evacuated, airline is awaiting approvals from Ministry of External Affairs to dispatch Boeing 747-400 from Mumbai and speed up process of evacuation.

What is Coronavirus?
A coronavirus is a kind of virus that causes an infection in se, sinuses, or upper throat. In January 2020, World Health Organization identified a new : 2019 vel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China. By late January, re were around 2,800 confirmed cases in China. While Wuhan along with 12 or cities was completely sealed by Chinese authorities to stop virus from spreing, death toll has risen to a 106 and confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by outbreak w stand at 4,515.
