President Kovind's flight to Slovenia delayed due to 'Rudder Fault'

President Ramnath Kovind's flight was delayed for about three hours from Switzerland. President Kovind was to travel from Switzerland to Slovenia on Sunday but his Air India One faced a technical glitch at the Zurich airport.
'Rudder Fault' delays the President's flight to Slovenia

The President was asked to return to his hotel from the airport after a 'Rudder Fault' was detected in his Air India One Aircraft.
An Air India Boeing 777 that was to fly from London to Mumbai was kept on standby at Heathrow as an alternate aircraft for the President's Journey if, the Air India One would not have been repaired on time, a source in the airline said.

However, Air India One was rectified by the AI engineers on time. President Kovind then flew from Switzerland to Slovenia following a three-hour delay.

On Sunday, President Kovind arrived in Slovenia on the third leg of his three-nation tour to Europe. Earlier, Pakistan had refused India's request to allow its airspace for his flight to Iceland.

President Kovind is on a three-nation tour to continue India's engagement and to boost the bilateral ties with Iceland, Switzerland, and Slovenia. This will be the President's first visit to Iceland and he will also be the first-ever Indian President to visit Slovenia.

While in Iceland, President Kovind addressed the Indian community in Iceland. His visit also included meeting Iceland's Prime Minister, Katrín Jakobsdóttir and President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson.
Post completing his visit to Iceland, he arrived in Switzerland on September 12. Later on Tuesday, during his second leg of the tour to Switzerland, he inaugurated a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the presence of the Mayor and President of Canton Vaud.

While in Switzerland, President Kovind also participated in delegation-level talks along with his Swiss counterpart Ueli Maurer and witnessed the signing and exchange of MOUs/agreements between two countries.
