The ceremonial event usually starts with the Ambassador and the Chief of Protocol to his or her left, entering the Presidential Palace. The ambassador is usually welcomed by the Director of the Office of the President or another designated Palace official. The ambassador after making his or her statement presents it to the Chief of Protocol before the Ceremony following which he hands over the letters of credentials. The President after the completion of the statement invites the ambassador to his office after being introduced by the Chief of Protocol.
