Veteran Bollywood actor Kader Khan passed away on December 31, 2018. He was 81 years old at the time of his demise. Now, on the mournful occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his condolences as he paid a tribute to the legendary actor.

Now, on the mournful occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his condolences as he paid a tribute to the legendary actor. Taking to Twitter, he said that Kader Khan brightened the screen with his acting skills and wit.

The PM also conveyed that he is saddened by his demise. Here's what he wrote, "Kader Khan Ji brightened the screen with his stupendous acting skills and lightened it thanks to his unique sense of humour. He was also a prolific screenwriter, associated with many memorable films. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers."
The actor was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. His son Sarfaraz confirmed the news about his death when just a day prior he had to deny so many rumours which had begun floating about the actor's demise. Other than the Prime Minister, a lot of eminent personalities also expressed their sadness on this tragic loss.

Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Smriti Irani, actor-Member of Parliament Paresh Rawal were among those who expressed their grief about Khan’s death. Naqvi was ‘deeply saddened’ while Rawal sent prayers for the actor to ‘rest in peace.’

Amitabh Bachchan, in particular, had a special condolence message on his passing. For those who don't know, he was close with the comic artist and had expressed that he was praying for his recovery.
