Ahmedabad: Protests, allegations and counter allegations after NSUI attack on Tuesday

After the gruesome violence that had broken out between ABVP and NSUI in the Paldi area of Ahmedabad, a war of words and protests broke out between ABVP & NSUI

After gruesome violence that h broken out between Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parish (ABVP) and National Student Union of India (NSUI) in Paldi area of Ahmedab, a war of words and protests broke out between ABVP, NSUI, Gujarat Congress and BJP as well. 

In an attempt to organise a massive dharna, several Congress leers including Amit Chavda himself came out on streets to condemn and protest against violence that h broken out on Tuesday morning. Several members of Congress also claimed that y will march to collector's office to submit a memorandum.

Gujarat Presh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Chavda also stated that y consider state police to also be a part of bigger political conspiracy. " Gujarat police were just standing re and enabling ABVP goons to hurt our NSUI members and students. What stopped m from carrying out ir duties? We were peacefully protesting a few meters away from ABVP office. How is that undemocratic? ABVP goons want to start a trend of violence but we want to remind m that we are in Gandhi's Gujarat," said Amit Chavda while speaking to media at site of dharna.

ABVP's 'Yagna' for Congress mental well being

In response to this dharna, ABVP members in Ahmedab also carried out a 'yagna' to 'pray for congress mental well being'. "We are organising this yagna for peace but above all for well-being of Congress party so that y get 'sbuddhi' about what y are doing. y only came to our offices, started violence, but are playing victim and y are sitting on dharnas. We hope that y get better soon," said Kush Pandya, Joint Secretary, ABVP Gujarat.

Leer of Opposition Paresh Dhanani, who h been absent from protest in Ahmedab, also claimed that y will be going to Goverr and speaking with him about frequent attacks between NSUI and ABVP and to carry out a proper investigation into entire matter.

In ar issue, NSUI has also claimed that Police is refusing to register an FIR against real culprits of ABVP and several leers who h been present re at scene of violence. Nikhil Savani, General Secretary of NSUI and a close aide of Hardik Patel, (who suffered a severe he injury in altercation) tweeted and stated that re is heavy deployment of police force outside hospital and that re are police officers refusing to register an FIR against some of main perpetrators of violence. He stated that he himself 'will go to Police Commissioner's office and sit on a dharna in this unhealthy condition'. He also claimed that police h been pressurising him to take back name of BJP Youth President Rutvij Patel.

BJP, on or hand, stated that re is only politics that NSUI and GPCC are playing. "re is only politics in this and political opportunities that opposition is seeking. history dictates that Congress has always been one to instigate and perpetrate violence," said Jitu Vaghani, BJP state Chief.
