The Chief Minister of Puducherry V Narayanaswamy and Lt Governor Puducherry Kiran Bedi slugged it out on Twitter on Sunday alleging each other of violating traffic rules. Bedi posted about the action taken against the chief minister over an alleged traffic violation during campaigning. The CM retorted with photos allegedly showing Bedi herself violating traffic rules.

Twitter battle between CM & Lt Gov
On Sunday, Puducherry's Lt Governor Kiran Bedi posted on Twitter a picture from a daily showing the CM riding a two-wheeler without a helmet. She called it a 'brazen violation' of the Motor Vehicles Act and said that DGP Puducherry Balaji Srivastava issued directions for legal action. The CM replied with photos (without location or date) of Bedi riding pillion on two-wheeler where either she or the driver were not wearing a helmet and tweeted, 'Practice what you preach...'

Power tussle between Centre & UT govt
The power tussle between the government in Puducherry and Centre appointed Lt Governor has been going for a long time. The Madras HC intervened following a plea by a Congress (party in power) MLA. It said that the Puducherry Lt Governor “cannot interfere” in the day-to-day affairs of the elected government of the Union Territory.

Minister blames Bedi of impeding welfare
Puducherry Health and Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao on Saturday hit out at the territorial Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi for allegedly impeding the implementation of developmental schemes evolved for Yanam region from where Rao had been elected to the assembly. Addressing reporters at the PCC office here, Rao said, "It is indeed a matter of concern that the Lieutenant Governor has not been giving her nod for implementation of welfare schemes meant for Yanam region, an enclave of Puducherry in Andhra Pradesh." Several posts in departments in the region have been vacant, although the cabinet had taken decisions to fill the vacancies, he said. (With PTI inputs).
