Pune: Thousands of followers are expected to gather for the Jaystambha salutation program near Koregaon Bhima on January 1, prompting traffic adjustments on the Pune-Nagar highway. The Pune Traffic Department urges cooperation, implementing changes from 2 pm on December 31 to 12 midnight on January 1.

For those traveling from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad to Ahmednagar via Nagar Road (excluding Jayastambha visitors), the following alternative routes are advised:

- Motorists heading from Pune to Ahmednagar: Take a right turn at Kharadi Bypass, proceed to Mundhwa Chowk, Magarpatta Chowk, then turn left on Solapur Highway Road to Kedgaon Chauphula, Nawara, Shirur via Nagar Road.

- For those traveling to Alandi and Chakan from Solapur Road: Turn right at Hadapsar, pass Magarpatta Chowk, and reach Alandi and Chakan via Vishrantwadi through Kharadi Bypass.

- Heavy traffic from Mumbai to Ahmednagar: Route through Vadgaon, Maval, Chakan, Khed, Manchar, Narayangaon, and Alephata.

- Light vehicles from Mumbai to Ahmednagar: Follow the route via Vadgaon, Maval, Chakan, Khed, Pabal, and Shirur.

- Motorists heading to the city from Mantarwadi Phata, Magarpatta Chowk: Take Pune Solapur Highway from Hadapsar to Nagar Road via Kedgaon Chauphula, Nhavra, Shirur.

- Note: Alandi Tulapur bridge over Indrayani River is closed for heavy vehicles on January 10, 2022. Only light four-wheeler vehicles of followers will be allowed; heavy vehicles should use Chakan-Shikrapur road.

- Heavy traffic bound for Vishrantwadi: Use Vishrantwadi Lohegaon and Wagholi routes.
