Punjab anti-drug drive: Two apprehended in Amritsar with 12 kg heroin

According to officials, police was able to seize 12 kg heroin from a vill near Indo-Pak border in Amritsar, Punjab, on Wednesday and also arrested two. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Vikramjit Singh Duggal, accused, who have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Gurpal Singh, belong to Rorawala vill in Amritsar.
Could be a cross border tre case
According to police, it appears to be a cross border tre and consignment appears to have come from across border and out for delivery while duo was intercepted by Police. An FIR by Gharinda police has been filed against accused. While furr investigations are on to establish any possible national and international links in case, it is also being suspected that more arrests are likely to happen in connection with same.

Apart from Amritsar, cases have also come in from Ludhiana and Sultanpur Lodhi. police have held two smugglers on basis of information by police of Anti Narcotics cell near vill Ramgarh on Chandigarh Ro in Ludhiana. However, a woman who was also seen with m is absconding.
