Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at latter's residence in New Delhi to help work out a peaceful solution to current stand-off between Centre and farmers over new farm laws. After meeting, Captain Amarinder Singh said that discussion is going on between farmers and Centre and re "is thing for me to resolve."

Chief Minister stated that he 'reiterated his opposition' in meeting with Home Minister and requested him to resolve issue as it affects ecomy of Punjab and security of nation.

Punjab Chief Minister and his Congress party have been supporting farmers' stir and state Assembly had also passed a set of bills aimed at negating Centre's farm legislation. Singh had earlier said that he and his government were willing to mediate in talks between Centre and farmers in collective interest of all.

'I am hoping for a positive outcome'
" Central government is constantly discussing farmers' issues with m. Today is fourth round of talks with protesting farmers. I am hoping for a positive outcome," Tomar told reporters ahead of meeting. Farmer leaders, while speaking to reporters ahead of meeting, also expressed hope that rounds of talks will lead to a positive outcome but many leaders remained consistent with ir stand that protests will continue until farm laws are rolled back.

Several farmers have expressed doubt that MSP may be removed after corporate markets, as per new farm laws, start functioning. However, BJP has maintained that y are committed to MSP with even senior leaders of party and Union Ministers reiterating that "MSP will stay".
