Punjab CM urges Amit Shah to handle issue of Pak-drones supplying arms

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh urged Home Minister Amit Shah to handle the problem of drones dropping consignments of arms & ammunition from Pakistan

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday urged Home Minister Amit Shah to handle problem of Pakistan-origin drones that have allegedly been dropping consignments of arms and ammunition from across border. This development came two days after Punjab Police probe revealed use of drones to deliver weapons from across border.

Taking to Twitter, Punjab CM said that recent incidents of Pakistan-origin drone dropping of consignments is a "new and serious dimension on Pakistan's sinister designs" in aftermath of abrogation of Article 370 from state of Jammu and Kashmir. Captain Amrinder Singh requested Amit Shah to handle problem of drones at earliest.

Punjab Police crackdown on terror 

On Sunday, Punjab Police had stated that y have busted a terror module of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), backed by a group based in Pakistan. Police had claimed that  terror group was conspiring to unleash a series of strikes in Punjab and adjoining states. It was revealed during Initial investigation that drones were used for  delivery of weapons and communication hardware from Pakistan.  Punjab police had arrested four members of terror module from outskirts of Chohla Sahib vill in Tarn Taran district of Punjab on Sunday. 

From arrested members of terror module, several arms and ammunition were recovered including, five AK-47 rifles, 16 magazines and 472 rounds of ammunition, four Chinese-made .30 bore pistols. police had also recovered eight magazines and 72 rounds of ammunition; nine hand grenades, five satellite phones with ir ancillary equipment, two mobile phones, two wireless sets and fake currency with face value of Rs 10 lakh from terrorists.

In light of crackdown, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh had also urged  Centre to alert Air Force and Border Security Force about findings of investigations over drones being used to supply weapons from across border. He also directed forces to launch necessary counter-measures to tackle situation.
