Punjab Congress MLA demands special car flag for legislators

Congress MLA Gurkirat Singh Kotli on Wednesday demanded in Assembly that Punjab legislators be allowed to put up a special flag in ir vehicles on lines of Haryana. Raising matter on concluding day of Budget Session, Kotli said that as use of red lights h been done away with, re should some form of identification that legislators can use.

He furr said members should be allowed to use a special flag in ir vehicles as has been done in Haryana. Last year, Haryana legislators were allowed to put up flags with Assembly logo in ir vehicles so that y could be identified while travelling by ro.

Following Kotli's request, Speaker Rana K P Singh asked Parliamentary Affairs Minister Brahm Mohindra to take up matter at state government level. speaker ded that he h earlier sought opinion of vocate General on matter and latter he did t approve it.
