Punjab school students set new world record with over 1 lakh creative videos amid COVID-19

Punjab school students have set a new world record by sending the most number of entries for an online video competition organised by the state government.

Punjab school students have set a new world record by sending most number of entries for an online video competition organised by state government encouraging kids to come up with invative ideas to deal with trauma and negativity of coronavirus lockdown.

news was shared by Punjab's Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla, who took to Twitter to anunce that video campaign has received more entries than any or similar competition being run online.

Vijay Inder Singla tified that online video campaign 'Ambassadors of Hope' has received 1.05 lakh entries and has surpassed earlier world record held by Philippines, which had got 43,157 entries in eight day-long competition.

Singla, while talking to press, said it is heartening for him to see response campaign has received from children. He said that objective of campaign has been achieved as it was meant to eng kids in constructive activity amid current time of crisis and keep m away from negativity surrounding pandemic.

According to reports, maximum entries for competition came from Ludhiana followed by Amritsar, Sangrur, and Patiala ------ 16,084 students sent videos from Ludhiana district, while 13,862, 10,741, and 10,614 entries were respectively received from Amritsar, Sangrur, and Patiala.

Singla furr added that he and his team will personally go through all videos to select a winner. Here are a few videos that children sent to Punjab government for competition.

Coronavirus in India

India is currently under a state of lockdown that was anunced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24 and was furr extended on April 13 for ar two-weeks before finally being stretched to May 17. According to figures on Worldometer website, India has recorded 52,987 coronavirus cases so far, of which 1,785 people have lost ir lives, while 35,871 infections remain active as of May 6.
