Pushkar Fair 2024: If you want to experience and enjoy Rajasthan 's culture up close, your wait is over. The world-famous Pushkar Mela is set to begin today, running from November 2 to November 17. This fair offers a firsthand look at Rajasthan's rich culture and is held in the holy city of Pushkar.This Fair begins between October and November,starting in the month of Kartik according to the Hindu lunar calendar, and concluding on the auspicious day of Kartik Purnima.

One of the biggest attractions of pushkar mela is the camel, often referred to as the "ship of the desert." In addition to camel performances, various competitions will take place in pushakr fair,where people brought their cattle, Camels, and Horses for trading in the market.

This year the world-famous Pushkar Mela is going to start from today, 2nd November till 17 november.

Pushkar Mela Timings:

Pushkar mela will begin each day at 9 AM and continue until late evening, featuring a variety of activities, including camel races, folk performances, and local handicraft exhibitions.

The main events are centered around the Pushkar Lake, surrounded by temples and ghats, with various activities taking place throughout the town.

Pushkar Fair 2024: Religious Significance

Pushkar, one of the oldest cities in India, holds high value in Hindu mythology. Each year, devotees gather to bathe in the sacred Pushkar Sarovar and to seek blessings at the country’s only Brahma Temple. According to Pandit Surendra Rajguru of Pushkar, this year’s religious bathing ritual will be the Bhishma Chaturthi bath, instead of the traditional Bhishma Panchaka bath.Each year, this holy dip takes place for five days, but due to the absence of the Brahma Chaturdashi Tithi, this year it will take place only for four days, from November 12 until Kartik Shukla Purnima ending on November 15.
