Railways to run special train to Statue of Unity from March 4
Railways will run a special train for tourists visiting the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, five months after it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a statement from the ministry said.

train, which will be run under government's Bharat Darshan scheme, will have a seven-night and eight-day tour pack beginning March 4 from Chandigarh, it said.

journey will also cover pilgrim sites like Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga in Ujjain, Mhya Presh, Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga near Indore, MP, Shirdi Sai Baba Darshan, Trimbakeshwar in Nashik, Maharashtra, and Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga in Aurangab, Maharashtra.
Priced at Rs 7,560 per person, tour pack has multiple boarding and de-boarding stations viz Chandigarh, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Delhi Cantt, Rewari, Alwar and Jaipur, statement said.

" pack has been designed to pay tribute to Iron Man of India, Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Train will halt at Vodara station and passengers will be taken to Statue of Unity by buses," it said.

Statue of Unity is situated on river island called Shu Bet in front of Narma Dam in Gujarat. It is world's tallest statue at a height of 182 metres.
pack includes train journey in n-AC sleeper class, hall or dormitory accommodation at places of night stay, morning freshen up, ro transportation, pure vegetarian meals, sightseeing as per itinerary by n-AC vehicles, services of tour manr, according to statement.

182-metre tall Statue of Unity at Kevia Colony in Narma district has become a major attraction for tourists after it was opened to public last year.
It h me a collection of Rs 1.26 crore within three days since vember 8. By December, daily footfall h reached 30,000, according to state government.
