Raj Thackeray to adopt Sena's Hindutva politics, announcement likely on Jan 23
As per sources in the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena camp on Friday, party chief Raj Thackeray is set to adopt the ruling party Shiv Sena's Hindutva politics.

As per sources in Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) camp on Friday, party chief Raj Thackeray is set to opt Shiv Sena's Hindutva politics. re has been consistent criticism from Opposition that Sena has compromised its ideology after forming Maha Vikas Aghi alliance with Congress and NCP. Sources reveal that Raj Thackeray was critical of Sena in his meeting with party functionaries in Pune. According to sources, he will make a formal anuncement regarding emulating Hindutva politics of Sena on January 23, birth anniversary of his uncle Balasaheb Thackeray.

Dilemma faced by Shiv Sena
ideological dilemma for Sena has come to fore on issues such as Citizenship Amendment Act and Veer Savarkar. In case of former, Sena MPs opted a different position in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. On or hand, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut defended Savarkar both on Twitter as well as in Saamana newspaper. However, party supremo Uddhav Thackeray refused to comment on Rahul Gandhi’s remark that h sparked off controversy in first place.

'Diverted attention from ecomic slowdown'
On December 21, Raj Thackeray broke his silence on Citizenship Amendment Act, observing that it was a ploy to divert attention from ecomic crisis in country. Maintaining that re was a lot of confusion regarding law, he claimed that government h deemed Ahaar as an inmissible document to prove citizenship. Moreover, he questioned need to give citizenship to more people from abro at a time when India was facing a lot of challenges due to population explosion.

Raj Thackeray remarked, “First, I want to thank Amit Shah for diverting attention of nation from ecomic slowdown using this Act. re is so much confusion in laws. w, y have said that Ahaar card cant prove citizenship. If it can be used for voting, n why can’t it be used to prove citizenship? n, what was use of making people queue up for Ahaar card?"
