Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot to participate in Peace March in Jaipur on Sunday

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot announced that he would participate in a peace march in Jaipur on Sunday at 11 am for the sake of upholding constitutional values.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot anunced that he would participate in a peace march in Jaipur on Sunday at 11 am. This comes amid Congress' opposition to Citizenship Amendment Act and police crackdown on protesters. march will take place from Albert Hall to Gandhi Circle in capital city of Rajasthan. He mentioned that people cutting across different sections of society were coming toger for march to “save” Constitution and democracy. Gehlot opined that this initiative would send a mess that re could t be any compromise with  fundamental values of Constitution.

Sonia Gandhi attacks Centre over CAA

Congress party voted against CAA in both House of Parliament. Addressing nation on Friday, Congress president Sonia Gandhi slammed Centre for mishandling situation in country. She reckoned that it was duty of government to address concerns of citizens. Contending that BJP had used brute force, she added that CAA and NRC were discriminatory legislation and would hurt lives of vulnerable sections of society.

Gandhi remarked, "re have been spontaneous protests at IITs, IIMs, and or leading academic institutions throughout country against divisive nda and anti-people policies of BJP government. It is duty of government to listen to citizens and address those concerns. BJP's brute force is unacceptable." She added, " CAA is discriminatory and proposed nationwide NRC [National Register of Citizens] will particularly hurt poor and vulnerable."
