Rajasthan Paper Leak Case: IPS Officer Calls for Arrest of Ashok Gehlot
IPS Pankaj Kumar Choudhary, currently serving in as policing community role, has demanded the arrest of Ashok Gehlot in connection with a paper leak case
Jaipur: IPS Officer Pankaj Kumar Choudhary, currently serving in as policing community role, has demanded the arrest of Ashok Gehlot in connection with a paper leak case, asserting that it is necessary to uncover the truth.
Over two weeks ago, Choudhary addressed Gehlot with an open letter, accusing him of harboring vendettas and 'mysterious malice' during his previous terms as Chief Minister. He suggested that certain issues were inadequately addressed in the paper leak case.
Following the arrest of former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) member Ramuram Raika, Raika’s children, and others by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police in relation to the 2021 paper leak for a sub-inspector recruitment exam, Choudhary has called for the exam to be canceled.
He also urged the Bhajan Lal Government to arrest Gehlot and that the additional director general of the SOG, who served between 2020 and 2023, be investigated regarding to the alleged paper leak scam.
Last year, Choudhary had stated that he could clean the RPSC within three months if given charge, and formally requested that Gehlot appoint him to this role.
Choudhary has previously leveled accusations against Gehlot. In 2013, he claimed he was transferred from his position as Superintendent of Police in Jaisalmer after taking action against Ghazi Fakeer, an influential Muslim leader, and filing a case against his son Saleh Mohammad, a sitting Congress MLA at the time. This transfer occurred within 48 hours of the case's filing.
Choudhary has alleged that both Gehlot and Vasundhara Raje during their tenure as Chief Minister in the state conspired to remove him from service.
