Rajasthan police makes first arrest in Karni Sena chief Gogamedi’s murder

In a major update in horrific killing of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi by individuals who visited his house as guests, police me first arrest in case on Saturday (December 9). police informed, person who provided logistics support to killers, identified as Ramveer was nabbed today. He allegedly helped shooters - Rohit and Nitin - escape from scene after shooting Karni Sena chief and dropped m off at Ajmer Ro.

Notably Jaipur Commissioner of Police h earlier stated, " assailants fled scene on a snatched scooter after ir getaway car driver was killed in crossfire."

At crime scene - Karni Sena chief’s home - one of three shooters who was identified as Naveen Singh Shekhawat was killed in firing at spot. One of Gogamedi's security guards was also critically injured in firing. responsibility for murder was taken by Gangster Rohit Godara, closely associated with Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi's gangs.

Driver who dropped off killers recounts events

driver, who dropped two shooters off in Sujangarh in his car, on Thursday recounted events leing up to chilling murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

Speaking to ANI on Thursday, Yogesh Sharma, driver, said, "I got a call from boy, who stays with me, that two passengers were to be dropped off at Sujangarh. I agreed. On way, y asked me to drop m off in Hisar. I refused and dropped m off in Sujangarh inste."

"From Sujangarh bus stand, y boarded a private bus. y were talking to me very normally," driver recalled. " next morning, when I learnt about murder and saw ir faces in news, I was convinced that se were same men whom I dropped off in Sujangarh at night," Sharma said on Thursday.

According to Jaipur Commissioner of Police, Biju George Joseph, "Three individuals arrived from outside. y left a message that y wanted to meet. security asked Sukhdev and three individuals were allowed inside. three individuals n h a conversation for about 10 minutes, during which individuals shot Sukhdev Singh and killed him. security personnel standing next to him was also shot and is currently in ICU at hospital. In this crossfire, one of three attackers was also killed. deceased attacker has been identified as Naveen Singh Shekhawat.”

‘National level social worker shot de’: BJP

Condemning death of national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in Jaipur, BJP leer Rajendra Rathore said that it was 'unfortunate'.

Criticizing Congress ruled Rajasthan Government for prevailing law and order situation in state, Rathore said that incident was a stain on outgoing Government of Rajasthan.

"A national-level social worker, who sought protection from police but did not get it and was killed by gangsters...This is a stain on outgoing government of Rajasthan", Rathore said. BJP has called for an NIA investigation into matter.

Rajasthan police was alerted: FIR

In FIR filed by victim’s wife Sheela Shekhawat, it was mentioned that Gogamedi h asked for Police protection from state’s former CM Ashok Gehlot and state police chief but it was denied. It was also mentioned that Punjab police h alerted to Rajasthan police about plot to murder her husband. A similar threat was also shared by Jaipur Anti-terror squ.

Rajput community called for a state wide bandh over murder of Karni Sena Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. His supporters blocked Shipra Path ro outside hospital, where Gogamedi was rushed after being shot. Besides Jaipur, protests erupted in state's Churu, Udaipur, Alwar, and Jodhpur districts.
