Unfortunate, unwarranted, malicious: Vindicated Rajnath tears into Rahul over Rafale

Rajnath Singh took to Twitter to point out how some parties made allegations against the Rafale jet purchase. He also said that politicians should be careful.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while speaking about the Supreme Court verdict on the Contempt case against Rahul Gandhi, took to Twitter to point out how some parties made allegations against the Rafale jet purchase. He also said that the politicians should be careful while making such comments. 

'Allegations to spoil image of BJP'

Further, Singh also said that the allegations of corruption came forth only to malign the honest image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. In addition to that, he also said that the people will not forgive Congress for what it has done and that Congress should apologise to the nation for their wrongdoings.

While saying that he wholeheartedly welcomes the Supreme Court judgement, Singh said that the purchase of the jets was done ina very transparent manner. He also said that the issues pertaining to defence preparedness and national security should never be politicised.

The Supreme Court on Thursday gave relief to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi while also asking him to be careful from hereon. Justice SC Kaul, while reading out the SC judgement said that it was unfortunate that the contemnor had made such remarks and that he, holding such an important position, should have been more careful. Justice Kaul further observed that no court should be dragged into any political discourse. The contempt plea against Rahul Gandhi referred to his attributing the 'Chowkidaar Chor Hai' slogan to the top court.
