Rajnath Singh: Pak being blacklisted by FATF will be the last nail in coffin for terrorism

Pakistan will get blacklisted by Financial Action Task Force (FATF) if it did t stop sponsoring terrorism, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned on Tuesday. Speaking here at a programme to mark 11th anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Singh also said that India is longer "a soft target". At least 166 people were killed when 10 Pakistani terrorists attacked Mumbai between vember 26 and 29, 2008.

'Pakistan is struggling with a slow-down and inflation'

"Since last five and half years our government has destroyed all terror infrastructure in India and w we are moving towards disrupting terror finance network with help of Financial Action Task Force," Singh said. "Because of FATF, Pakistan can see all shes of grey," he said, referring to international watchdog putting neighbouring country in its `gray' list, and ded, "if Pakistan did t stop sponsoring terrorism, n it will most certainly be blacklisted." Pakistan is struggling with a slow-down and inflation and "being blacklisted by FATF will be last nail in coffin of terrorism", he said.

Defence Minister also praised spirit of Mumbaikars in face of terror attacks in past. In last 11 years, India has secured its borders and tightened security, hence it is t easy for any terror group to launch ar 26/11-like attack, he said. In last five years, re has been terror incident in country outside Kashmir, he pointed out.

Learning lessons from 2008 attack, during which terrorists came by sea route, re has been a parigm shift in country's security architecture, Singh said, ding that a three-tier security system, consisting of Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Police is w in place. Navy is setting up a special force, 'Sagar Prahari', consisting of 1,000 personnel, to guard naval assets and it will be a force multiplier if situation warrants, Singh said.
