About film
film is based on Indian cricket team's victorious campaign at 1983 Cricket World Cup held in England. Ranveer will be seen essaying role of captain of Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev. Indian cricket team played against West Indies in World Cup finals and brought trophy home.

Actor Deepika Pukone also features in film as Kapil Dev's wife, and she is also co-producing film. film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Niwala, Mhu Mantena and Reliance Entertainment. Besides Ranveer Singh, cast also includes actors such as Tahir Raj Bhasin, Boman Irani, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, and Sacred Games star Jatin Sarna. Pritam has come on board as music director for film, which will hit atres on April 10, 2020.
