Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was visibly irked with this trend, as he took to Twitter to point out that there were many other important issues that were neglected en route to making 'RIP actor Vijay' trend on social media. What is 'RIP actor Vijay'?
The rivalry between the fans of Kollywood actors Vijay and Ajith Kumar is known to be very volatile, with both sides known for displaying the 'strength' of the fans on social media. There have been various instances of such trends previously, where one actor is trolled by the fans of the other. However, this trend left many surprised as to how the topic trended just because of youngsters tweeting about it without considering other important issues in the country. A shocking number of 56.2 thousand tweets were put out on the RIP actor Vijay trend, leaving it to trend on the second spot on Twitter.
