Coronavirus: 'Reconsider travelling to Daegu in South Korea,' advises Indian Embassy
The Indian Embassy in South Korea urged its citizens to reconsider non-essential travels to Daegu and Cheongdo county in Gyeongbuk after coronavirus outbreak.

Indian Embassy in South Korea urged its citizens to reconsider n-essential travels to Daegu and Cheongdo county in Gyeongbuk after se were declared as “Special Care zones” by government in wake of coronavirus outbreak. Embassy issued an visory for Indian nationals living in South Korea following several calls and e-mails from m regarding a spike in number of coronavirus cases in South Korea over past few days.
Though Korean government raised virus alert level to ‘red’, most of cases were largely centred in Daegu and neighbouring rth Gyeongsang province. “Korean Government has declared Daegu and Cheongdo county in Gyeongbuk as ‘Special Care zones’. In this situation, please reconsider n-essential travel to se places,” tweeted Indian Embassy on February 24.

'Avoid physical contact'
Embassy also vised Indian nationals to take or precautions against vel coronavirus, officially kwn as COVID-19, such as refraining contact with sick people and avoiding physical contact with strangers. Embassy also urged its citizens to avoid public garings and to wear masks while using public transport and moving around outside.
“ Indian ‘namastey’ greeting is best,” embassy vised people when meeting strangers.

South Korea has confirmed an ditional 161 Coronavirus cases on February 24, with 763 total confirmed cases, making it largest number of cases in world after China. Most numbers of cases in South Korea are related to Shincheonji Church of Jesus in sourn city of Daegu.

According to latest report, 150 new deaths in China due to coronavirus infections have been confirmed, taking total death toll because of dely virus to nearly 2,600. While most of cases are from Hubei province of China and city of Wuhan, epicentre of outbreak, or countries, including Italy, Japan and Philippines, have also w reported deaths related to COVID-19.
