Renukaswamy Murder: Darshan's Wife Grilled for Hours After Recovery of His Footwear From Her House

Bengaluru: Vijayalakshmi, wife of actor Darshan who is an accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has also come under police scanner in their investigation into the murder case after a crucial evidence was found at her residence. 

The footwear, worn by Darshan on the day when Renukaswamy was killed, was recovered from Vijaylakshmi's house, Republic has learnt. According to sources, the footwear was allegedly sent to Vijaylakshmi's house by Darshan's makeup man. 

After the latest development in the case which can be prove significant in unraveling the details, police questioned Vijaylakshmi about the footwear and also inquired about how often would Darshan visit her. 

Darshan, 12 Others to Be Produced Before Court Today

Meanwhile, Darshan along with 12 other accused will be produced before a magistrate court this afternoon as their police custody ends today. Cops are likely to seek custody of only thosed accused who are further needed for spot inquest and interrogation. 

All the accused's hair strands have also been collected at Victoria hospital and will be subjected to DNA test. Moreover, 118 circumstantial evidence has been seized from spot inquest conducted across 28 locations in connection with the case. 

Technical evidence has been sent to cyber cell to get more information. DNA material has been sent to Forensic science lab to establish and prove their identity. 

Murder Spot Remains on Police Focus

The focus of cops remains on the murder spot at Pattanagere in Rajarajeshwarinagar. They also record the statement of Jayanna the owner of the plot on which the shed was built where the victim was brutally assaulted and tortured, leading to his death. 

The DVRs and CCTV footage have also be recovered from the spot. Sources revealed that there were 7 CCTVs installed at the shed, out of which only two were functional.

All About Renukaswamy Murder Case

For the unversed, Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga and a fan of the 47-year-old actor Darshan, had allegedly commented on the social media account of Gowda, a small-time actress, accusing her of creating a rift between the actor and his wife. He had also allegedly used "indecent language" and posted offensive messages, according to police sources. 

After being kidnapped, Renukaswamy was allegedly beaten up with a belt, and sticks and then thrown against a wall resulting in his death, as chilling details of his murder emerged during the investigation into the case by police, Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his close friend Pavithra Gowda and 11 of his associates were arrested on June 11 in connection with the murder.
