R Bharat Summit: Delhi CM Atishi Highlights AAP's Growth, Predicts Strong Answers on Feb Polls
Speaking at the Republic Bharat Summit, CM Atishi said that in the upcoming assembly elections of Delhi, the people would deliver a strong response.
Republic Bharat Summit: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi attended India's largest news event, the Republic Bharat Summit (Rashtra Sarvopari Sammelan), in the national capital on Friday. During the event, in a discussion with Republic Media Network's Executive Editor Aishwarya Kapoor, Atishi said that in the upcoming assembly elections of Delhi, the people would deliver a strong response. "In February poll results, people of Delhi will give BJP a strong answer. People will show them their sinking position," she said.
Stressing on the development work being done by her party in the national capital, CM Atishi said, "People from different states come to Delhi because they know Delhi schools are better, the colleges are better. There is better infrastructure here. People know AAP is working for development here in Delhi."
Speaking of AAP's loss in Haryana Assembly Polls, Atishi said, “Not all states are like Delhi, where we can win in the first go. We fought in Haryana; we have built our foundation there.”
Atishi also spoke about the Aam Aadmi Party's commitment to the people and the challenges posed by the opposition. "AAP is with the people of Delhi. BJP has been attacking the Constitution. BJP has been trying to end democracy and drag it to dictatorship. AAP has always stood to 'save the Constitution,' and we will join hands with those parties who are with us in this goal," she said.
Reflecting on the BJP 's performance in recent elections, Atishi pointed out the gap between their claims and reality. "BJP kept saying they will win over 400 seats. They wanted it because they wanted to change the Constitution. BJP didn't even touch the halfway mark. People broke their arrogance. People gave them the answers with their mandate. BJP did not even win a clear majority in LS polls."
She also addressed the recent raids and investigations involving AAP leaders, stating, "We all can recall that when all the scams are reported, piles of money are found, but raids happened at AAP leaders' locations, but not one penny was found by agencies. In this so-called liquor scam also, no amount of money has been recovered till date. It is just a conspiracy by BJP against AAP."
Discussing the arrest of key AAP figures, Atishi added, "For the way Arvind Kejriwal was arrested, and other AAP leaders were arrested, when BJP failed to stop Kejriwal by fair means, they resorted to such practices. Ask any person in Delhi, they call Kejriwal 'sabse imaandar.'"
Atishi further criticised the misuse of agencies and selective enforcement. "Today, under the PMLA Act, it is not used against major drug syndicates or against terror activities, but against AAP leaders. Cases against BJP ally parties have been shut, saying files are missing. BJP doesn't want to end corruption. They make all corrupt people a part of their party. It is clear that all agencies are being misused by the Centre."
Highlighting AAP's resilience, the chief minister added, “AAP leaders did not break or surrender even after being in jail for months. Ask Delhi people about AAP and their leaders, and they will tell you how AAP has worked for them.”
