The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated in Kashmir on Tuesday amid tight security, with the main event in the valley being held at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium.

Braving chilly wear conditions, contingents of police and or security forces took part in pare after Khan was given guard of hour. A security force jawan, who was part of Republic Day pare, collapsed apparently due to hypormia, officials said.
