SC allots 'Plough' symbol to JKNC ahead of Ladakh polls, Omar Abdullah welcomes verdict

NC leer Omar Abdullah on Wednesday welcomed Supreme Court order on allotment of ''plough'' symbol to it, saying BJP and Lakh ministration "did everything possible" to deny m ir right, but court saw through it.

“.@JKNC_ got verdict we wanted & deserved. Our symbol, plough, has been given to us by Hon Supreme Court earlier this morning,” Abdullah said in a tweet.

former J-K chief minister alleged that “BJP ably assisted by a totally biased Lakh ministration, did everything possible to deny us our right”.

“ court saw through this & penalised m with ₹1 lakh costs imposed on ministration. Congratulations to @JkncKargil and a huge thank you to @ShariqJReyaz for amazing job he did arguing this in front of HC & SC,” he ded.

Supreme Court on Wednesday set aside August 5 tification of election department for Lakh hill council polls and directed issuance of fresh tification within seven days for it.

A bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah also dismissed plea by Lakh ministration opposing allotment of ''plough'' symbol to NC and imposed a cost of Rs 1 lakh on it.

Jammu and Kashmir and Lakh High Court h dismissed Lakh ministration's plea against a single bench order allowing NC candidates to contest upcoming polls for Lakh Automous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, on party symbol.
