SC says PIL challenging the PM-CARES Fund “has political colour”, warns petitioner of fine
The petition had challenged the legality of the PM Cares Fund and various CM Relief Funds stating that such funds cannot be set up by the Central or State govts

Supreme Court today dismissed a petition filed by vocate Shashwat Anand challenging legality and functioning of PM Cares Fund along with also seeking directions for Centre to undertake door-to-door testing. petitioner, who appeared in person, was told by Supreme Court to eir withdraw petition or face a fine imposed by Top Court.
bench of Justices NV Ramana, Sanjay Kishan Kaul and BR Gavai went on to dismiss petition "as withdrawn” in order.

petition h challenged legality of PM Cares Fund and various CM Relief Funds stating that such funds cant be set up by Central or State governments due to existing National Disaster Response Fund and State Disaster Response Funds. He also asked for all money that was collected under PM Cares Fund to transferred to NDRF and SDRF.
Justice Ramana, heing 3-judge bench pulled up petitioner for filing frivolous litigation. judge threatened petitioner with a fine in case petition was t withdrawn. “This petition has a political colour” Justice Ramana stated.
