Supreme Court Unit of Congress party's Legal, Human Rights and RTI Department has suggested that Rahul Gandhi should take over charge as Congress President again.

Rahul Gandhi served as chief of Congress party from December 2017 but later quit from post after his party faced a b defeat in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Post Rahul's resignation, Sonia Gandhi took over party's control as its interim president.

Resolution Condemns CAA
resolution formed by various departments of Congress also condemned Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, terming it as 'unconstitutional' and violative of Article 14, 21 and against basic tenets of secularism.
resolution furr stated that " Act is also contrary to various international conventions to which India is a signatory. Act is sectarian and constitutionally immortal apart from being divisive and anti-pluralistic, in fact, a blatant and well-designed effort to destroy secular fabric of our beloved country."

Earlier on Tuesday, Sonia Gandhi h led a delegation of opposition parties to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and h sought his intervention against legislation.
