‘Second AIIMS of Odisha Will Be Established In Sambalpur’: CM Mohan Manjhi

Sambalpur: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Manjhi on Sunday announced that a second All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be established in Sambalpur adding that his state government has already made a demand before the Centre in this regard. 

"The second AIIMS of Odisha will come up in Sambalpur, the State government has already placed a demand in this regard before the Centre, said CM Mohan Charan Majhi at the launch of the CM-KISAN Yojana at GM University auditorium in Sambalpur.

As of Now, Odisha has 1 AIIMS in Bhubaneswar

Currently, Odisha has one AIIMS under operations which is established in the state capital Bhubaneswar. Established in 2014, the foundation stone for the project was laid by the late Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on July 15, 2003.

Earlier today, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi launched 'CM-KISAN Yojana' on the occasion of the Nuakhai festival at Sambalpur.Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was also present at the launch ceremony.

The scheme has incorporated a fund of Rs 925 crores in financial aid to 46 lakh small and marginal farmers who are not included in the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) program.

Eligible farmers will receive a total of Rs 4,000 in two installments. The first installment of Rs 2,000 will be disbursed on Nuakhai, starting September 8, and the remaining Rs 2,000 will be provided on Akshaya Tritiya. This scheme targets landless farmers who were previously excluded from the PM Kisan Yojana. Through the CM KISAN Yojana, the government aims to support this segment of the farming community. This initiative is part of the state government's broader efforts to uplift farmers and enhance agricultural development in Odisha .
