Security Guard Slits Wife, Daughter’s Throat Then Commits Suicide In Tripura

In South Tripura’s Baikhora Police Station area, a security guard killed his wife and 3-year-old daughter by slitting their throat before committing suicide.

South Tripura: In a shocking incident in South Tripura’s Baikhora Police Station area, a security guard killed his wife and 3-year-old daughter by slitting their throat before committing suicide. The incident took place in the Nabarampara area, following which the local police rushed to the spot and shifted all three bodies to the mortuary for post-mortem. A case has been registered by the Baikhora police and a probe has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the incident.

The 31-year-old security guard has been identified as Biranta Tripura, while his 24-year-old wife has been identified as Sahima Tripura and his daughter as Elisha Tripura. The police said that the decomposed bodies of the three were recovered from the house. Further legal action is being taken into the matter.

According to the police, the neighbours raised an alarm before the Baikhora police after they didn’t spot Biranta Tripura, his wife and daughter in and around their house for a few days.

"After receiving the information, a police team went to the village and recovered three decomposed bodies. The bodies of the woman and child bore injury marks from a sharp weapon," the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Law & Order, Ananta Das, said.

It appeared that Biranta Tripura killed his wife Sahima Tripura (24), and daughter Elisha Tripura (3) with a sharp weapon, and then ended his life, he said.

According to Das, police have registered a case of unnatural deaths and started an investigation to reveal the motive of the incident.

The deceased ( Biranta) used to work in Bangalore as a security guard and returned home after getting married, Bishnu Charan Das, the Officer in Charge (OC) of Bikhora police station said.

"Biranta owns a small rubber plantation at Nabarampara and is also used to work in other rubber gardens to earn his livelihood. It is not clear yet why he had taken such an extreme step," he said.
