Security personnel recover IEDs & grenades in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri

Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces operating in the Dara Peer Makal area of Thanamandi, located in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, recently made a significant recovery of arms and ammunition during a thorough search operation. The combined efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army's 48 Rashtriya Rifles yielded a cache of weapons.

Four remote improvised explosive devices (IEDs), six Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) grenades, five detonators, four fuses, two unidentified small box packages, and additional unidentified materials were recovered. An investigation has been initiated into this recovery, with authorities having registered a case in connection with the incident.

In an earlier operation in November, the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police jointly recovered a box that had been air-dropped by a drone near the LoC (Line of Control) in the Palanwallah village area.

The police retrieved nine grenades, a pistol, two pistol magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, and an IED with batteries from the box, according to the information given by the officials.

On the Sidhra Narwal highway stretch of Jammu, the Jammu Police found an IED hidden in a tiffin box in November.
