Senior advocates urge Justice Arun Mishra to be patient with lawyers, judge apologises

Supreme Court vocates requested Justice Arun Mishra on Thursday to be patient in dealing with lawyers after judge warned a lawyer of contempt while arguing a land acquisition matter two days ago.

A battery of senior vocates, led by Kapil Sibal, Mukul Rohatgi, Abhishek Singhvi and Supreme Court Bar Association president Rakesh Khanna, mentioned this issue as soon as a bench of Justices Arun Mishra and MR Shah assembled in court number 3 for day's proceedings.

Justice Mishra, who is heing a five-judge constitution bench hearing land acquisition matters, h warned senior vocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan on Tuesday of contempt while he was vancing his arguments in matter.

Apology with folded hands
After vocates mentioned issue, Justice Mishra, while making it clear that he respects Bar more than any or judge, said if anybody h felt aggrieved, he was apologizing for that.
"If anybody has felt anything at any point in time, with folded hands, I am apologizing," Justice Mishra said.
