Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Calls for Strong Measures to Protect Hindus in Bangladesh

The spiritual leader urged the Indian government to allow Hindus from Bangladesh to seek refuge in India.

In an exclusive interview with Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Shankaracharya Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotirmath me a passionate appeal for India to take decisive action to protect Hindus in Banglesh. He emphasized need for India to open its doors to Hindus fleeing persecution in neighboring country.

"India must take strong steps to protect Hindus. Hindus must be protected in Banglesh. Banglesh government must not forget that thousands of Bangleshis live in India," Shankaracharya said during interview. He highlighted historical context of India-Pakistan partition, which was conducted along religious lines, and noted that minorities were assured of security but were still targeted.

"We request government to provide land and security for m, and we will take care of ir food and or requirements and won’t let burden come on government," he stated.

Shankaracharya also reiterated importance of India as a safe haven for Hindus worldwide. "Hindus should be ensured that India is land for Hindus, and if y come from any part of world, y will be welcomed," he said, expressing solidarity with Hindu community in Banglesh. "We stand united with Hindus of Banglesh," he affirmed.
