Sharad Pawar mocks possibility of Sena forming govt on its own, takes dig at CM Uddhav

NCP supremo and Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Pawar on Wednesday ridiculed the possibility of its ally Shiv Sena forming the government on its own in the near future.

NCP supremo and Rajya Sabha MP Shar Pawar on Wednesday ridiculed  possibility of its ally Shiv Sena forming government on its own in near future. This came after Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray dressed district chiefs of Shiv Sena on Tuesday wherein he reportedly exhorted m to strive to bring party to power on its own strength. In a veiled dig at Thackeray, Pawar told reporters that he h been hearing  same speech about Sena winning Assembly election on its own for last 30 years.

Historically, Shiv Sena has always fallen short of majority mark and has been able to form government in Maharashtra only in an alliance with or parties. At same time, Pawar maintained that re was thing fundamentally wrong with Thackeray's comments. According to him, this was a method to boost morale of party workers.

NCP president Shar Pawar remarked, " leer of any party always says that. re is thing wrong with that. I am hearing ‘Unfurl saffron flag’ speech for last 30 years." He ded, "Even we say that we will win on our own. That does t mean that we have left Congress. Even Congress says same. This is a way to energise your own party’s cres. re is need to draw any or meaning to this."

"Jayant Patil is president of my party in state. Balasaheb Thorat is president of Congress and Shiv Sena is led by Uddhav Thackeray. We will sit toger and take an appropriate decision. I want to appeal to my party workers that we want stability in state," Pawar said on possibility of Maha Vikas Aghi contesting local self-government institutions toger.

Government formation in Maharashtra

Despite winning a comfortable majority of its own, NDA could t form government in 2019 over Shiv Sena's demand for rotational CM post. After imposition of President's Rule in state, BJP took a surprising step of joining hands with NCP's Ajit Pawar, who h reportedly promised support of or legislators. However, new Fnavis-led government h to resign ahe of SC-mandated floor test owing to paucity of numbers. 

Subsequently, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took oath as CM of Maharashtra backed by new allies NCP and Congress on vember 28, 2019. Recently, a meeting between Sena MP Sanjay Raut and Fnavis set  rumour mills buzzing. However, both leers insisted that ir interaction which lasted for at least 2 hours was focused only on modalities for Saamana interview.

In his dress to  Maharashtra BJP Executive meeting on October 8, BJP president JP Nda predicted that Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress will be permanently relegated to opposition in near future. Lauding leership of former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fnavis, Nda contended that re was total confusion in functioning of Uddhav Thackeray-led government. Nda maintained that mandate of people was with BJP, which could win a majority on its own.
