Sharad Pawar's NCP Youth Wing Stages Protests Outside ED Office
NCP’s youth wing staged a protest outside the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) office in connection with money laundering case registered against Sharad Pawar.

Nationalist Congress Party’s (NCP) youth wing led by Mehboob Shaikh std a protest outside Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) office on Wednesday. This protest was held against registration of a money laundering case against NCP Supremo Shar Pawar and ors allegedly involved in MSCB Bank scam. protestors shouted slogans against ruling BJP and government outside ED office. Shaikh claimed that protesting party members were baton-charged by police and y were detained later.
Mehboob Shaikh’s claims against money laundering case
NCP youth wing's state unit chief, Mehboob Shaikh claimed that, “ ED filed case against Pawar given huge response his campaign rallies have received. ED is being used to stifle voices of opposition leers ahe of election. Hence, we std protest outside ED office to condemn action.” ED has filed a money laundering case against Shar Pawar, his nephew Ajit Pawar and ors in connection with Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam case. An Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), has been registered by central ncy under Prevention of Money Laundering Act. NCP from it's official Twitter handle tweeted a few pictures of ir protests. In ir tweets, y said that charges against party supremo Shar Pawar are false. y also said that y were beaten by police for holding protest outside ED's office.

Shar Pawar's reaction
Shar Pawar reacting to accusations against him said that he was t surprised. He, in fact, thanked ED for naming him in case. He said, “I thank probe ncies because y have involved my name in a case relating to such a bank of which I am t even a member of, I was t involved in its decision-making. If y have filed a case against me too, I welcome it. I would have been surprised h such action t been taken against me after kind of response I receive during my visits to various districts of state."

Shar Pawar, who initially appeared clueless about his name figuring in ED's case, said that he has t received any tice yet. NCP dismissed it as a politically motivated case. "This is a politically motivated move, aimed at defaming opposition leers ahe of polls," NCP chief spokesperson Nawab Malik alleged. Ar NCP leer, Dhananjay Munde, criticised move and said that efforts were being me to bedevil Shar Pawar given 'huge' response he was receiving in poll-bound state and same h me ruling BJP 'fidgety'.
