Smriti Irani's Instagram caption featuring Bill Gates wins the internet

Union Minister for Women & Child Development Smriti Irani has been on the crosshair of many for her education, however, Irani has put up a picture on Instagram of herself with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates with a hilarious caption that is a subtle response to those who have been taking a dig on her educational background.

About the Instagram post

The Instagram post features the Union Minister engaged in a serious discussion with Gates, for which she wrote the caption in Hindi which means "Wondering what to do next as we haven’t completed our degrees"

Smriti Irani in her affidavit ahead of the 2019 General Elections had declared to the Election Commission that she was not a graduate. Her poll affidavit mentions “Three-year degree course not completed,” in brackets. Also, the Microsoft co-founder is one of the most famous college dropouts who quit Harward after two years to work full-time on his own startup "Microsoft" which has made him one of the richest men in the world with a net worth of (108 Bn) 10,740 crores.

To add to the amusement, TV tsarina Ekta Kapoor who has also worked with the former TV actress turned politician, added her comment to the post, insisting Smriti Irani to return to the small screen, however, Irani with a witty reply said, "Service to Nation first."

On Monday, philanthropist Bill Gates who is also the co-founder of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, along with Smriti Irani launched the Bharatiya Poshan Krishi Kosh which is a repository of diverse crops across 128 agro-climatic zones for better nutritional outcomes. It aims at reducing malnutrition through a multi-sectoral results-based framework, including agriculture, among women and children across the country.
