Social distancing key to containing Covid-19 spread: Nitin Gadkari

Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday emphasised the need for social distancing to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus and appreciated people's overwhelming response to 'Janata curfew' proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tackle the crisis.

Union minister Nitin Gkari on Sunday emphasised need for social distancing to curb spre of vel coronavirus and appreciated people's overwhelming response to 'Janata curfew' proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tackle crisis. Lok Sabha MP from Nagpur said he responded to PM's call by staying at home. He appreciated steps taken by Maharashtra and Union governments to tackle coronavirus outbreak. Speaking to media at his residence, Gkari said: 

"t only our country, but entire world is facing danger of coronavirus.

" only solution to this problem is social distancing as re is a possibility of its spre if we go public places or crowded places."

He said Janata curfew was one of ways to contain spre of dely virus (Covid-19), which has spre to more than 150 countries.

" people of country responded to it overwhelmingly. I congratulate people for this gesture," said BJP leer.

Gkari said he avoided going out of his home and meeting people. "Today at home, I listened to music, did exercises just relaxed with family members. I avoided meeting people and everyone should do this for a few days.

"Everyone should take care of mselves as it is in ir own interest," said Union minister.

To a query on measures taken by authorities in Maharashtra to tackle outbreak, Gkari said both state and central governments have taken good steps and public is also supporting m.

"We all should fight it with patience and without fear. We all should support government," veteran politician said.
