SP Has No Relationship with Development: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath at a rally in Phulpur, targeted the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday, accusing it of having no relationship with development.

Prayagraj: Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath targeted Samajwi Party (SP) on Saturday, accusing it of having no relationship with development.

dressing a rally in Sahso, Phulpur Assembly, in support of BJP bypoll candidate Deepak Patel, CM Yogi ityanath said, " SP has no relationship with development. Its only principle is 'sabka sath', development of Saifai family. It cannot think beyond this."

He also accused SP of opposing Ram temple and Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya, Dev Deepavali in Varanasi, transparency in examinations, development projects, and even welfare schemes for poor.

He furr accused opposition party of bolstering "mafia raj" in Uttar Presh.

"It only believes in politics of division," senior BJP leer said.

"We h to wait for 500 years (for Ram temple to be built) in Ayodhya because we were divided. We h to face humiliation in Kashi and Mathura because we were divided. When we were divided, we were cut off. biggest challenge in India today is people who divide us in name of caste," he said.

Pointing to Jaya Pal, wife of Umesh Pal, and Puja Pal, wife of former BSP MLA Raju Pal, ityanath said that when atrocities were committed against m, no one was re to raise questions.

Raju Pal was killed in bro daylight in Prayagraj in January 2005 and main witness in case, Umesh Pal, was also shot de in February 2023. main accused in both se killings was former SP leer Atiq Ahmed, who has since been killed.

Referring to a protest staged by students in front of Uttar Presh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) office here, he said, " government will create an environment for competitive examinations to be conducted in a fair manner and selection board and commission are working with full commitment for this. When competent people join service, y increase pace of development and help government schemes reach poor." chief minister said for BJP, politics is a mission to render service, while for SP and BSP, politics is a business of carrying out ir exploits, spreing anarchy, hooliganism, instigating riots and imposing curfews.

" SP and BSP should not be given certificates for doing se acts. ir candidates' deposits should be forfeited," he ded.

bypoll to Phulpur constituency in Prayagraj district was necessitated by election of incumbent BJP MLA Praveen Patel to Lok Sabha earlier in year.

Nine Assembly seats are going to bypolls in Uttar Presh -- Katehari (in Ambedkar Nagar district), Karhal (Mainpuri), Meerapur (Muzaffarnagar), Ghaziab, Majhawan (Mirzapur), Sishamau (Kanpur City), Khair (Aligarh), Phulpur (Prayagraj) and Kundarki (Morab).

Eight of se seats fell vacant after ir MLAs were elected as MPs, while bypoll to Sishamau seat is being held due to disqualification of SP MLA Irfan Solanki, who has been convicted in a criminal case.

In 2022 Assembly polls, Sishamau, Katehari, Karhal and Kundarki were held by SP, while BJP h won Phulpur, Ghaziab, Majhawan and Khair.

Meerapur seat was held by Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), which is now an ally of BJP in National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Congress is not contesting bypolls and supporting its INDIA bloc partner SP, while BSP has gone solo on all nine seats.
