Special Cell Nabs Sharp Shooter Involved in Sensational Murder at Delhi's Burger King

New Delhi: The Special Cell unit of the Delhi Police has solved the sensational murder in West Delhi’s Burger King by arresting a desperate sharp shooter in the national capital. The accused was apprehended with a sophisticated pistol and 8 cartridges. The accused, who was identified as Bijender alias Golu (27) has been previously involved in 5 cases of murder, attempt to murder and Arms Act.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), PS Kushwah stated that a team of Special Cell led by Inspector Puran Pant and Inspector Ravi Tushir under the overall supervision of DCP Manoj C has apprehended the accused, who was involved in the sensational murder case of Aman at Burger King in Rajouri Garden on June 18.

Criminal gang based on foreign soil planned the murder, says police official

On June 18, at about 9.30 pm, 3 persons came on a bike at Burger King outlet located on the first floor on the Najafgarh Road in the Rajouri Garden area. One person remained positioned outside on the bike to keep surveillance and as backup with weapons while two of them went inside the burger king and indiscriminately fired around 20 to 25 rounds on a person from close range leading to his on the spot death.

The victim was identified as Aman, a resident of Haryana’s Jhajjar. A case of murder was registered at Rajouri Garden police station and investigation was initiated.

Considering the gravity of the murder of Aman a team of the Special Cell unit swung into action to nab the criminals. During the investigation, the accused were identified as Ashish alias Lalu, Vikas alias Vickey and Bijender alias Golu. The team raided a number of suspected hideouts in Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.

After 10 days of tedious work, on June 28, the police team on the basis of specific input successfully apprehended the accused in the Rohini area after brief resistance.

During the interrogation, accused Bijender disclosed that the murder of Aman at Burger King was committed in a pre-planned manner on the instruction of a criminal gang based on foreign soil. 
       
Further legal action into the matter is being carried out.
