A threatening call to blast the Special NIA Court which is hearing the Malegaon blast case was received on October 30

Mumbai: A threatening call to blast Special NIA Court which is hearing Malegaon blast case was received on October 30 at Registrar's Office of Mumbai Sessions Court following which a team of Colaba Police station and Bomb detection squad arrived at court premises to conduct a proper inspection on same day. 

As per inputs threats were issued against Court . 26 of Mumbai Sessions Court which is special NIA court that is currently ruling over Malegaon Bomb blast case 2008.

NIA Special Court Receives Bomb Threat 

Court 25 , 26 , 40 , 55 and 57 are special designated NIA Courts which conducts trial of all offences which are investigated by NIA including cases of terror, human trafficking, cybercrime, UAPA among ors. 

A senior police officer has confirmed to Republic TV regarding visit and inspections of court premises but denied to reveal more on this case.

 According to official, FIR has been registered in case so far.

" threat was given to court 26 stating that y will blast that court and kill judge in blast "COURT AUR JUDGE DO KO UDA DENGE," official sources told Republic TV.

After this threat, security ncies are on alert.

Judges Demand Enhancement In Security 

Meanwhile, sources in intelligence department have revealed a parallel inquiry is underway in this matter necessary actions have been initiated 

In aftermath of threat, a judge of Special court wrote to Mumbai Police Commissioner  and demanded an increase in security at residence of judges,

Justice AK Lahoti, Justice Chakor Baviskar , Justice VD Kerkar, Justice BD Kelkar, Justice AM Patil have wote a joint letter to Mumbai Police Commissioner demanding increased security near ir homes. 

letter mentioned that y are hearing sensitive cases related to terrorism every day, so keeping in mind ir and ir family's safety, Mumbai Police should increase security of ir homes.

Senior Public Prosecutor Adv Avinash Rasal in Malegaon Blast Case while speaking to Republic said, "Most of cases related to national security and terrorism are heard in Mumbai's NIA court, in such a situation, such threats are worrying. investigating ncy should take care of security of all judiciary members, lawyers and witnesses coming to se courts.”

“My security was also of Y+ category earlier which has been reduced to X category. Our demand is that se cases need to be taken seriously and whatever action is required should be taken," he added.
