Mumbai: A threatening call to blast the Special NIA Court which is hearing the Malegaon blast case was received on October 30 at the Registrar's Office of Mumbai Sessions Court following which a team of Colaba Police station and Bomb detection squad arrived at the court premises to conduct a proper inspection on the same day.
As per the inputs the threats were issued against Court no. 26 of Mumbai Sessions Court which is the special NIA court that is currently ruling over the Malegaon Bomb blast case 2008.

NIA Special Court Receives Bomb Threat
Court no 25 , 26 , 40 , 55 and 57 are special designated NIA Courts which conducts trial of all the offences which are investigated by the NIA including the cases of terror, human trafficking, cybercrime, UAPA among others.
A senior police officer has confirmed to Republic TV regarding the visit and inspections of the court premises but denied to reveal more on this case.

According to the official, no FIR has been registered in the case so far.
"The threat was given to court no 26 stating that they will blast that court and kill the judge in the blast "COURT AUR JUDGE DONO KO UDA DENGE," official sources told Republic TV.

After this threat, the security agencies are on alert.
The court which has received the threat can give its decision in the Malegaon bomb blast case of 2008 in a few months as the hearing is on the final stage.

Judges Demand Enhancement In Security
Meanwhile, sources in the intelligence department have revealed a parallel inquiry is underway in this matter necessary actions have been initiated
In the aftermath of the threat, a judge of the Special court wrote to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and demanded an increase in security at the residence of judges,
Justice AK Lahoti, Justice Chakor Baviskar , Justice VD Kerkar, Justice BD Kelkar, Justice AM Patil have wote a joint letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner demanding increased security near their homes.
The letter mentioned that they are hearing sensitive cases related to terrorism every day, so keeping in mind their and their family's safety, Mumbai Police should increase the security of their homes.
The Senior Public Prosecutor Adv Avinash Rasal in Malegaon Blast Case while speaking to Republic said, "Most of the cases related to national security and terrorism are heard in Mumbai's NIA court, in such a situation, such threats are worrying. The investigating agency should take care of the security of all the judiciary members, lawyers and witnesses coming to these courts.”
“My security was also of Y+ category earlier which has been reduced to X category. Our demand is that these cases need to be taken seriously and whatever action is required should be taken," he added.
