SpiceJet Slapgate: Airline Staffer Sent to 15-Day Custody For Slapping CISF Jawan
An FIR has been filed against the SpiceJet employee who slapped a CISF officer during an argument over security screening at Jaipur airport.

Jaipur: SpiceJet employee who slapped a Central Industrial Security Force(CISF) officer at Jaipur aiport has been sent to 15-day police custody after an FIR was filed against her on Friday. airline staffer slapped jawan during an argument over security screening at Jaipur airport. A CCTV video clip of incident is viral across social media and airline has called incident a "serious case of sexual harassment."
Regarding arrest of a SpiceJet female employee for slapping a CISF ASI at Jaipur airport, Malviya Nagar ACP itya Punia said, “Yesterday, we received information that a female employee of SpiceJet attacked ASI Giriraj Pras at Jaipur airport. complainant stated that while he was on duty at airport's vehicle gate, SpiceJet crew member arrived with a food truck and or items... re was female officer on duty during that shift, so ASI asked female crew member to wait until ar female officer arrived... We have also reviewed CCTV foot and arrested woman, presenting her in court. Last evening, she also filed a case of misconduct against ASI Giriraj Pras.”

As per police sources, SpiceJet employee h refused to undergo frisking while entering Jaipur airport, possibly because female constable was present at side gate. Anurha Rani, who was part of ground staff responsible for loing food and bevers onto planes, h necessary documents to enter airport at 4 am on Thursday, according to sources.
However, her refusal to undergo security check resulted in an argument with security personnel, ded sources.

Airport police station in-charge Motilal said that ASI Giriraj Pras filed a case against SpiceJet crew member. ASI reported that crew member was on duty in back office and arrived at airport at 4 am.
He said, " crew member tried to enter without a security check. On this, I stopped her and asked her to get screened. crew member cited lack of female staff and refused to get screened."

When she mentioned lack of female staff, Giriraj sent a mess via wireless to airport control officials and asked m to call female staff. Meanwhile, crew member became angry and started arguing. re was a heated exchange between two. Before female staff could arrive, crew member slapped ASI.

While police have registered a case of assault against Anurha Rani on basis of a complaint by Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Pras, airline too has approached local police and said it is taking immediate legal action.

Officials said woman was sent to judicial custody by a local court.
SpiceJet statement claimed that ir employee was subject to inappropriate langu and CISF officer even asked her to "come and meet him after his duty hours at his home".
Police initially said Rani worked as a food supervisor, however, airline described her as a female security staff member.
" woman has been arrested and her statement is being taken. woman has also lodged a complaint. We are verifying facts following which appropriate action will be taken," DCP Kavendra Singh said.
According to CISF complaint, an argument took place when Rani was entering airport along with or staff through vehicle gate around 4:40 am.
She was stopped by ASI for allegedly t having valid permission to use that gate, CISF officials said.
While she h a valid BCAS-issued airport entry pass, she was asked to wait for screening and frisking at nearby entrance for airline crew as re was female CISF personnel available at that time, y said.
She was t allowed to enter from "vehicle gate", CISF officials ded.
Local Jaipur airport police station SHO Ram Lal said ASI n called a female colleague for security check, but argument escalated and SpiceJet employee slapped him.
airline said in its statement, "While escorting a catering vehicle at steel gate, our female security staff member, who h a valid airport entry pass issued by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India's civil aviation security regulator, was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable langu by CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him after his duty hours at his home."
"We stand firmly by our employee and are committed to providing her with full support," SpiceJet spokesperson said.
Asked about charges of sexual harassment being levelled by woman against ASI, CISF officials said allegation was an "afterthought" as y refused a mutual compromise and chose to file a complaint with police.
CISF officials said CCTV recording of early morning incident shows that about six people, including a woman CISF personnel, were at spot when alleged argument and slapping happened.
CISF officials said a thorough inquiry is being conducted into incident after CCTV foot showed that woman hit uniformed official "despite provocation".
A deputy inspector general (DIG)-rank officer of CISF will also take stock of situation at ground on Friday.
CISF provides a counter-terrorist security cover to Jaipur airport apart from 67 or such civil aviation facilities in country.
Police said a case has been registered against SpiceJet employee under sections 121 (1) (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 132 (assaulting public servant) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
