'Stop Misleading Nation': Railways Rebukes Congress Claims Over Train Mishap In UP
Over the Rai Bareli train accident, Indian Railways and Congress locked horns. In a repeat, Railways dismissed the claims made by Congress.
New Delhi: In a repeat, Indian Railways and Congress were seen exchanging war of words on the social media platforms with the Ministry of Railways rebuking the opposition party’s ‘blame game’ on the collision incident between a freight train and a rail engine in Raebareli.
Congress in a similar move from the past called Ashwani Vaishnaw a ‘Reel Minister’ and informed him about the incident on the social media platform X.
‘Don’t Mislead, Stop Demoralising Railways Family’
In a sharp reply, the Ministry of Railways took to social media platform X and debunked the claims of Congress saying that the engine which collided with freight trains does not come under Indian Railways. The Ministry further added that even the driver does not belong to Railways.
In Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, a head-on collision occurred between a freight train and a rail engine, causing the engine to derail. The accident, which took place on Monday evening at the NTPC power project in Unchahar, was caused by a miscommunication about the signal and track alignment. The incident resulted in injuries to the loco pilot and one other individual.
Railways Have Refuted Congress Claims In Past
The Railway Ministry has rejected Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's assertion that the Delhi Police filed the first FIR under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 2023 against a street vendor for obstructing a foot-over bridge at New Delhi Railway Station.
Ramesh had claimed on his social media account X that "the first FIR under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 2023 was filed by the Delhi Police against a street vendor who was earning his daily livelihood under a foot-over bridge at New Delhi Railway Station."
