Subhasri death: AIADMK's Jayagopal sent to 14-day judicial custody

Exactly two weeks after AIMK ex-councillor Jayagopal went absconding, Chennai police finally tracked him down to Krishnagiri district, 290 kilometers from state capital. After arrest, Chennai police produced Jayagopal in front of Alundur magistrate on Saturday morning, which sent him to 14-day judicial custody till October 11.
Furrmore, Alandur magistrate refused to remand or four co-accused in case, who were hired by Jayagopal to erect banner. y were arrested by Chennai police earlier. Meanwhile, as per police, Jayagopal’s bror-in-law Meghanathan, as well as contractor who erected illegal hoardings, are still absconding. Alandur magistrate pulled up police for arresting four labourers who were hired to put up banners, asking co-accused wher labourers were aware that y are erecting illegal banners. co-accused later revealed that labourers were unaware of nature of task given to m after which magistrate instructed police to release m on bail.

On Friday evening, Chennai police special team, which was formed to hunt AIMK ex-councillor, reportedly tracked his debit card us to zero in on him at Denkanikottai resort. He h used his card to pay for food at resort.

On September 12, one of illegal hoardings which were erected for wedding anuncement, crashed on 23-year old Subhasri while she was riding her two-wheeler on ro. She lost balance and fell in front of a water tanker, which took her life. driver of tanker was immediately arrested following tragic incident.
